Space, the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Earth. Its mission, to keep herself and us, alive, under the cosmic laws of nature and the Universe itself. What we do, in the meanwhile, is up to us.
This entire analysis will be on the philosophical and linguistic approach. I consider this the first step toward our understanding, before I attempt to - at a later post - to place everything under a more scientific scope.
The Universal Laws
Many of us have heard of this, but very few, if any, have gone to the trouble of explaining what that actually means. We only know it as ‘something that holds true at its fundamental nature’ or what in mathematics calls, an axiom. Everything that uses axioms as its base of reference, is a theorem. Once that theorem is proven, then other theorems can originate from it or a combination of theorems, as long as - in their deeper origins - are supported by the base axioms.
There is also the other side. When we take a proven theorem or an axiom as a base, in order to develop another hypothesis (or a theorem), if the final result cycles us back to a basis that contradicts that theorem or that axiom, then the entire hypothesis is deemed wrong. This is the mathematical Process of Termination that applies into literally all aspects of life.
The same applies to Universal Laws. If we use them to develop a hypothesis that - in its conclusion - contradicts the Laws it was supposedly based on, that hypothesis is wrong to begin with.
Allow me to bring this into the Leyman’s Terms field. If we begin a hypothesis under the axiom of gravity’s existence, and reach a conclusion that says there is no gravity, that hypothesis is flawed at its core.
It is incredible how many applications this has in our everyday lives. Yes, it also applies to the information we are exposed to, from doctrines, to events, to politics, to literally everything. It is a way of living and evolving as a human species - and is one of the fundamentals of critical thinking. I would go as far as naming it ‘the axiom of critical thinking.’
From All Things, One - and from One, All Things
This phrase was first written down by the famous ancient scientist and philosopher, Heraclitus. He tangled much with cosmology and the order of nature. The first part of this phrase was later translated in Latin and was used by the occult for ages.
‘E Pluribus Unum’ - from All Things, One.
You will find that in the infamous Illuminati sign. Notice that it is placed in a way where everyone has to - essentially - ‘service the One.’ This is blows the entire original writing out of context. Heraclitus brought this saying as a cycle that connects the whole with the one and the one with the whole. What the Latin and occult version says is that we are all subservient, AKA slaves, to the ‘One’, while Heraclitus states that there is a bidirectional relationship between the one and the many, AKA the whole.
Once we bring in Hesiod’s description that ‘humans and gods originate from the same source,’ Heraclitus writing starts to make more sense. Thus, whatever our prowesses or limitations may be, we are all part of something greater. What is that ‘greater’?
Here, I will add another of Heraclitus’ phrases:
“Tον κόσμο τούτο, ίδιον για όλους, δεν τον δημιούργησε ούτε θεός ούτε άνθρωπος, αλλά ήτανε πάντα, είναι και θα είναι αείζωη φωτιά, που σύμφωνα με νόμους ανάβει και σβήνει.”
Translation:
“This cosmos, same for all, was not created neither by god nor by human, but always was, is and will be an eternal flame, which according to the laws will ignite and die.”
And he continues:
“Tο παν είναι διαιρετό αδιαίρετο, γεννημένο αγέννητο, θνητό και αθάνατο, λόγος και αιωνιότητα, πατέρας και γιος, θείο και δίκαιο.”
Translation:
“The everything (universe) is divisible indivisible, born non-born, mortal and immortal, logos and eternal, father and son, divine and just.”
I understand that this phrase alone is an overload. It provides us with several seemingly antithetical definitions that are united in their entirety. Curious, no?
The meanings here are extremely deep, so, let us break them down.
The Nature of our Universe
Divisible Indivisible
As crazy as this may sound, it is pretty simple. Our cosmos is divided in a variety of states. Neutrons, gas, liquid, solid, energy. Even in space, planets, comets, asteroids, stars, solar systems, galaxies. To bring it closer to ‘home’, humans and animals. Different species, yet all part of the cosmos. Thus, everything is the universe, indivisible.
Born Non-born
This is enough to make a person’s brain explode. How can something this complex and magnificent be both born and unborn? The ‘born’ side tells us that it came from somewhere, while the ‘non-born’ side tells us it wasn’t. Unlike what many may think, this is a connection of antithetical meanings, not an opposition. What it tells us is that nobody gave birth to the universe but it ‘gave birth’ to itself.
It is clearly a translation issue, as the generic word for ‘γεννημένο’ or ‘γένεσις’ (Genesis) means ‘birth’ in English. However, the true origin of the word comes from ‘γίγνεσθαι’ which means ‘to be’ or ‘to become.’ By using the letter ‘α’ in the beginning of the word takes an antithetical meaning. To bring another example, we have ‘ορατός’ (visible) and ‘αόρατος’ (invisible).
Thus, the universe came to be by not being made. Thus, it was not created by a third party. This coincides with Heraclitus previous saying, that nobody created the cosmos. Thus, the ‘born’ and ‘non-born’ tells us that the universe is self-created.
This is also supported by the:
Father and Son
This is something we find in doctrines, where the Father and the Son are the same ‘being’. In the cosmic approach of Heraclitus, this means that the older state (Father) and the newer state (Son), are still part of the same cosmos, the universe itself. Again, divisible - indivisible. It is a state of cosmic evolution and not a label that organized religions wish to relay.
This also connects to:
Mortal and Immortal
In short, this ties in to the ‘death and rebirth’, yet another cycle of the cosmic evolution. Nothing ever truly dies, but changes states from the old to the new. Evolution or de-evolution, depending on the ‘adherence to’ or the ‘breaking of’ the universal laws. I shall address near the end of this article.
Logos and Eternal
For the average person, this would constitute another ‘brain explosion’, no? Why are Logos and Eternal presented in an antithetical perspective?
Unlike the dogmatic translation of Logos as ‘the Word of God’, the actual word itself has a far more extensive meaning - and is the base of a plurality of applications. It is, by no means, a version of ‘E Pluribus Unum’ that essentially says ‘Everyone obey the sayings of the One’.
Logos is the root of words like: Logiki (logic), Logios (scholar), Logistiki (logistics), Logion (announcement, omen), Lego (I say/speak), Leg-si/Leksi (the word made of syllables), Logia (explanation, narration), and many more.
What do all of the above have in common? They are finite. They have a beginning and an end.
Now you see how Logos is antithetical to Eternal, which is endless. Again, it is part of the indivisible. Elements of the whole. Thus, Logos is part of the Eternal, and both part of the universe.
And then we reach the final “antithesis" of:
Divine and Just
This is the part that cycles the entire “From All Things One, and from One, All Things.”
If you noticed, I placed the word “antithesis” between quotation marks. This is another translation issue and a severe one at that. The entire spine of all dogmas, without exceptions, relies on this mistranslation.
The word ‘θείο’ or its product ‘θεός’ originates from the word ‘θέω’ which means ‘I see’ or ‘I view’. Derivatives of this word are: Θέασις (sight/view), Θέαμα (spectacle), Θεωρώ (I suppose), Θέσις (position or ‘thesis’), Θέτω (I place something) and many others.
The word ‘Hypothesis’ (Υπό-θέσις or Υπό-θέαση), in its literal translation, means “I place something under sight” or “under view” or “under judgement”.
There is also the word “θεόρατος” (theoratos) which means that “something is so enormous, that it was to be seen/viewed from far away, mainly from above”.
Even the word “Theory” (Θεωρία) originates from the words ‘Theo’ and ‘Oro’ which mean, respectively, ‘View’ and ‘See/Observe’.
It sure makes one ‘wonder’ why the word ‘theology’ (Theo-Logia) is used the way that it is. Knowing the origins of both the words offers an entirely different view, doesn’t it? It literally translates to:
The narration (or explanation) of a view/sight.
For one thing, it tells us how language has been malformed to take original meanings and distort them. We have been seeing this happen far too often.
Even if we are to be as bold as to breakdown the word Divine, before it assumed the meaning of “Godly” in the 14th Century AD/CE, it appears to be coming from:
Di-Vine = Dia-Via or Dia-Vie.
Many of you have heard the French word “C'est la vie.” The French is a language that originated from the so-called “Vulgar Latin”, a Latinized popular Italic dialect called Sermo Vulgaris or Sermo Urbanus.
Vie, in that dialect means ‘life’. This coincides with the Latin word ‘vita’ which also means life.
Di or Dia or Dias (Deus for Latin, which they translate as ‘God’), has another, interesting origin.
From even before the Hellenic Pantheon, the cosmos had two fundamental principles: Unity (coupling) and Division. The simplest example I can bring is the unity of male and female to produce an heir. This heir grows into the womb as the division of cells, which leads to multiplication, and the formation of life.
Thus, this function was initially assigned to Zeus-Dias as a title, long before the Pantheon came to be. It is why, later, the ruler of “Olympus” was referred to with two names, Ζευς (Zeus) and Δίας (Dias). From the words Ζευγνύω (combine/create a couple) and Διαιρώ (divide). In short, it was a title of unity and division in the terms I described in the previous paragraph. Hence, we have the word ‘Διαιρώ’ (Diairo = I act divisibly) and ‘Ζευγνύω’ (I unite, connect). It is also noteworthy to mention that the word Ζεύγος, still used today, means “couple”.
In Latin, the words Dias (divider) and Zeus (uniter), were combined in one, hence Deus.
What I do find interesting is why did the Latins select the Dia - as in the divider - for their word Divine? Because, if we take into account all of its origins, it literally means “the divider of life.”
Were the organized religions built to divide us? That is something to consider.
So, Heraclitus’ last “antithesis” starts to make more sense.
Instead of “Divine and Just”, it would translate to “Omniscient and Just”. This means that the universe has ‘eyes’ everywhere and grants favor to none. Per to what these ‘eyes’ are, since we have established that we are part of the cosmos, the eyes are us, all living beings. The universe sees through us.
The part of ‘Δίκαιο’ - as in granting favor to no one - goes to the balance of nature, the balance of life. Or, in scientific terms, action and reaction, cause and effect.
Our Cosmic Existence
Everything we just spoke of earlier is the basis of the Universal Laws. Of our existence.
It is as if we are all part of a grand society (not a secret one), a grand organism that exists in the balance. These Laws function in the same way our own body does, or even our own soul does.
As I promised in the “Mortal and Immortal” part of the cosmos (per Heraclitus), this is where it all comes into play. Just like in our bodies, when a foreign germ or entity comes in, our natural defenses rush to cleanse the destructive anomaly and bring back health and balance to our being. The same way, when parts of the cosmos grow out of balance, they collapse. Thus, that part of the cosmos dies, as mortal, and is reborn so that it regains its former function, as an immortal part of our universe.
In essence, the cosmos has no actual concept of ‘light and dark’ or of ‘good and evil’. It understands ‘healthy and sick’. It is why, when we encounter great evil, we subconsciously use the word ‘sick.’
The universe itself, when it detects such a sickness, it will react. And like our bodies, it will not send a single ‘white cell’ to combat this sickness. It will send an army. As to what form that army will take, I believe we will find out sooner or later. It will definitely not be the army from the Far East as the Book of Revelations claims, as we analyzed in the article of the ‘End of Days.’
After bursting your mind with philosophy and linguistics, in a later post I shall attempt to make the connections between our human biology and the universe in a more scientific approach.
If there is one simple conclusion that you should take from all the above is that we are part of what many may define as ‘God’. We are not slaves. We were never meant to be slaves.
